I've Seen What Happens When Families Go It Alone
For over 25 years, I sat in hundreds of IPP and IEP meetings as an Independent Facilitator/Education and Disability Advocate — for RCOC, Inland Regional Center, SGPRC, East LA Regional Center, and school districts across Orange County and Los Angeles. I watched families work hard to follow complex discussions about their loved one's future — discussions filled with legal terms, acronyms, and processes that are genuinely difficult to navigate in any language.
An interpreter can bridge the words. But families often needed more — someone to help them prepare before the meeting, understand the full picture after, and stay by their side throughout the year.
